Count Chocula
Count “Chocy” Chocula was an elder bun who was due to be put to sleep at the shelter on July 29, 2013 – the very day we rescued him. It took some convincing, but we got him and we are glad we did. He came to Zooh corner underweight with infected eyes, urine scald. Initial x-rays indicated calcification of his kidneys and arthritis in his spine. Soon after, an ER visit was needed to help with the early signs of bloat.
After that close call, things finally started to look on the upswing for our little old man. Chocy had shown amazing improvements, and had become a bit of a celebrity at Zooh Corner. He is even in our 2014 calendar!
Unfortunately, his condition began to deteriorate, and we had to see him to the Rainbow Bridge on October 27, 2014. It was not easy to say goodbye to this fierce and silly soul. He was a tough little soldier, a pushy and independent little guy, a lover of oaties and sunshine – and star model – all rolled into one handsome, old, fragile body.
He was an amazing little guy and I don’t think I will stop crying for him for a long time. Thank you all for loving him so much. I am absolutely sure the love he felt from around the world made his stay on this plane a bit longer. Thank you
Binky In Peace, Chocy. Find your little Button Man and be free from pain and old age. . . be free.
Chocy – Forever free, forever missed.
I am so sorry for your loss. I just saw Chocy’s status on fb yesterday. I have 3 bunnies of my own and can’t imagine my life without them.
RIP sweet Chocy….no more suffering lil bun.
