Goodbye Fencicle the Intrepidly Peckish

Our hearts have joined the thousand, for our friend stopped running today.

We are absolutely heartbroken to have to tell you all that on Saturday morning, Fencicle The Intrepidly Peckish—our big, beautiful, affectionate, bossy, funny Fen—left us. 

The evening before she left, she was happy, playful, doing binkies, snacking down on her nighttime cookie treat—and in the morning she was gone. We still don’t know how or why, and we still truly don’t have the words to express the grief in our hearts at this sudden, unexpected and unexplained loss. She has overcome so much since she came to us in September 2021. She was happy, healthy, spoiled, and deeply loved. It is simply not fair that she had so little time to enjoy the life she deserved.

When she first came to us, due to all her medical issues and frequent vet visits, she lived at Zooh Corner. We, of course, fell in love with her immediately. How could you not? We truly wanted her to stay with us, but quickly realized that, because of all the other bunnies here, she would not get the space and attention she truly deserved, needed, and very much wanted. We will be forever-grateful that Diana, her sanctuary mama, said yes when asked if Fen could live with her. She had the perfect life, our big, beautiful pirate girl. She was the queen of the house, spoiled, and deeply loved.

We will leave it there for now. Diana, her amazing and broken-hearted Sanctuary mama, made this video, and when she is able to do so, will post her personal tribute.
