Goodbye to Pork Chop

Pork Chop“My heart has joined the thousands, for my friend stopped running today.”

On Monday last, my dear friend (and Zooh Corner VP) Susan, and I said goodbye to Pork Chop. Pork Chop was Susan’s and Sum’s first rabbit, the first rabbit they adopted from Zooh Corner, and the catalyst for our friendship and longtime rescue partnership. Much emotion.

Pork Chop had a long and happy life, filled with many friends and lots of goodies (as can be confirmed by the tummies in the photos ). It wasn’t until the last half year that he started to have some mild hind end issues (he was getting weekly therapy at California Animal Rehab), and only the last two days was he at all ill. He had a good run, as we like to say; but that doesn’t mean we won’t miss him.

Pork Chop was such a nice bunny. A perfect first bunny! He had, loved and lost two wives (Kahlúa and Mary (shown in pic #2)), and then decided he was a polyamory sorta guy and lived with Juno, Pinkerton and Jaba for the remainder of his years.
You are loved, Pork Chop, and you will be missed by all of us, especially your humans and your bunny friends.
I also want to take a moment to thank both Susan and her husband, Sum, for the love and wonderful lives they have given to so many Zooh Corner rescues over the years. It is the truly lucky bunny who makes it into your home!
