Luigi Shows his Flatitude
Luigi the Lemon, one of our special Sanctuary bunnies, was recently featured by Flat Bonnie for demonstrating some wonderful “flatitude!” This little man enjoys his cuddles after his daily treatment, which involves nutritional supplements, pain meds, and gastrointestinal meds.
Flat Bonnie is a line of plush toys that advocates for responsible and informed adoption of rabbits. From their site:
Flat Bonnie was created to help bring awareness to the life of bunnies in shelters and rescue centers. Most people do not know that there are bunnies ready for adoption at these places. Flat Bonnie plushes are made for people who love bunnies and for people who may want a real bunny but are not ready to provide the proper care and finances needed to raise the bunny. When that person is ready for a real bunny, Flat Bonnie’s message is to adopt from a local shelter or rescue center. A generous portion of all sales is donated to bunny/animal rescue organizations monthly.
Luigi has been doing fairly well, but his weight is still lower than we would like. He is a bit of a picky eater when it comes to his greens and hays, but he has been on a steady supplemental diet to ensure he gets what he needs. He has been showing more energy and enthusiasm when he runs around and binkys at his sanctuary home.
