No! Twinkle Star Hospitalized for Bloat
Zooh Corner Rabbit Rescue
On Thursday in the early morning, No! Twinkle Star’s health began to shut down. She was rushed to the clinic that morning after a long night of care at Zooh Corner. Her gut was full of gas, she was extremely dehydrated, in pain and had a low temperature. Despite being up all night trying to raise her temperature, she was not able to maintain it by herself either at home or at the clinic.
Under the fantastic care of the vet Techs at EAVC and the amazing Dr Wills, she was unfortunately still unable to produce any urine or get her gut moving. She was hooked up to IV fluids but the vet feared there was an obstruction.
Though we had greatly hoped to avoid surgery, given how long it took her to recover from her last bloat surgery, No! Twinkle Star’s doctors had no other choice by Friday afternoon. The obstruction was found and she pulled through it like a champ but still has a long road to recovery ahead of her. She now IS making urine, which is important. She now has a nasogastric tube because she was not swallowing when being syringe fed. She is critical, so still hospitalized with Dr Kanfer. She is on IV fluids, too.
Thank you for all of your love and kind words and prayers. They are truly appreciated. ❤
