Poppie – Rescued November 7, 2013

Poppie is a 10-year old female rabbit rescued from the Carson shelter. She has medium urine scald, UTI, dental issues, eye infection (possibly related to dental disease), is seriously underweight with some muscle wasting and arthritis in front feet/ankles. Rads show heart slightly small (dehydration), medium amount of gas in abdomen and cecum, lungs and kidneys et al appear ok. Bloodwork pending.

Poppie is shy but warms up as soon as she is gently touched. She has difficulty moving about, which could be urine scald or arthritis, or both. She is in rough shape but we are hoping most of this can be dealt with through good diet, TLC and antibiotics for the UTI and eye infection. Will have more info when we get blood and fecal results.
