Update on Baby Bunny

Though she will remain hospitalized for a few more days, I do feel a bit more hopeful, but she still has quite a way to go, especially regarding being able to urinate. bebe update

Her vulva and urethra sustained significant damage. If you look at the first set of pictures posted on Facebook, there is one that looks particularly bloody. If you look at it you can see the anus. The thing above it is her vulva (and urethra and etcetera). Pretty much obliterated will need reparative surgery.)) Currently, Dr. Kanfer is putting lidocaine gel on it when she expresses her bladder. Otherwise, it hurts her too much to urinate.

That all being said, she also has a compression fracture to deal with and the fact that she cannot use her back end. We are hoping she can beat the odds and regain some ability to use her back legs. Fingers crossed. It has happened before; Parsnip Malone beat the odds, so there is hope!

We brought her some little toys. She definitely has a great attitude. And she is feisty. She growled at me and faked a chomp, letting me know already just who is in charge. (Which kind of won my heart and broke it at the same time. I miss No! Twinkle Star so very deeply.)

Don’t let the attitude and cuteness fool you. She is adorable, young, tiny and feisty, but as you can see by the photos at the end, she is also not in great shape. She has a long way to go, but I think her attitude will help her get through this.

Please consider making a donation for her medical care. I posted the estimate earlier, in this photo album. Please know that she will already excede that, as she is spending more time hospitalized than just the two days initially accounted for. She is worth every penny – don’t you think?
