Urgent Help Needed to Pay Vet Bills
Summer at Zooh Corner has been incredibly busy and the bills are piling up! Despite the already generous donations from our supporters, and money from our own pockets, our veterinary bill at Exotic Animal Veterinary Center still has a huge outstanding balance due to the medical emergencies that the bunnies at Zooh Corner have faced this summer. We desperately are calling out for help to pay down the huge balance. Any donation amount would be greatly appreciated!
On June 30th, we responded to a call to help a baby bunny found wandering as a stray, who’s back legs were badly broken. Miss Parsnip “Sprinkles” Malone has carved a special place in the hearts of Zooh Corner volunteers and supporters as she makes her journey to health again, persevering through almost 2 months in casts to mend her shattered back legs. The outstanding veterinary care has gotten her (and us) through this ordeal so far and her prognosis is very hopeful, but the last 7 weeks of intense care has racked up a bill of thousands of dollars. Her Go-FundMe campaign has helped us pay down a portion of it, but we still have a long ways to go to settle her bill.
Moonpie also recently had to visit our vet when it was discovered that she had developed abbesses underneath and behind her left eye. She responded well to a sedation and cleaning of the abscesses we could reach as well as some necrotic bone, and we are really hoping that her antibiotics will do a good job helping clean up the abscesses that could not be reached. She has been through so much in her life that we want her to have the best care possible so she can be happy. She will have to go in for a recheck next week to see how the antibiotics are doing and possibly have more work done.
Doc Holiday is the third bunny that’s been to see Dr. Kanfer lately. He has had ongoing issues all week and today attempted to bloat. After intense care and hospitalization he has been able to avoid surgery so far but he is hospitalized and still has a lot of work to go before he is stable. We are worried but we are working as hard as we can for him and the other bunnies that Zooh Corner has taken on.
It’s been an intense summer, and many have already made donations, but if you can spare any further amount to help the Zooh Corner bunnies, it is desperately needed and appreciated. Zooh Corner and its volunteers are working hard but we can’t exist without your financial support. We’ve paid off thousands, but there are still thousands more to go and we need to keep our bills in good standing. Please make a donation, either directly to our vet bill at Exotic Animal Veterinary Center (626-405-1777) or to our paypal account as listed below. Zooh Corner’s bunnies are in desperate need of your help.
Thank you.
