Zooh in Review – 2014

1052014 has come and gone, and Zooh Corner looks back at some highlights from this past year.  Many thanks to all our volunteers and supporters who make this all possible.

Here’s to a hoppy 2015, where we look forward to helping our rescues to their loving homes.

January

Mortimer Jones and WoolyWhoo were both in poor condition when they were rescued.  They have since recovered and have been adopted!  We also hosted our first seminar in the 2014 rabbit care seminar series – Rabbit Basics.

February

Rabbi, Percival, MOnocle, and Theodore Rabbit were rescued.  Rabbi and Percival have found a loving home in the Zooh Corner Sanctuary, and Theodore Rabbit was adopted.  MOnocle is staying with one of our foster homes, and is still looking for a forever home!

March

Picasso was rescued, and went on to a loving sanctuary home.  We also hosted our second seminar in the 2014 rabbit care seminar series – Rabbit 911, and we started our YouTube channel.

April

Mighty Mouse and Madison, a bonded pair who have been with Zooh Corner for most of their lives, were welcomed to the sanctuary, where they will continue to be loved by Zooh Corner and volunteers.  Rainbow found her furever home.  Our website was also upgraded to the new (current) version.

May

Silas had been rescued over a year ago, but stayed with temporary fosters until May when he finally made his way to Zooh Corner. He has since been adopted!  We hosted our third seminar in the 2014 rabbit care seminar series – What’s for Dinner?  Unfortunately, we lost Victoria and Button Man in May, two of our beloved sanctuary bunnies.

June

TuxedoSummer, Kiwi, Sarah V, and Penguin were rescued.  Tuxedo, Penguin, and Sarah V have joined the Zooh Corner sanctuary, while Kiwi and Summer are available for adoption.

July

We hosted our fourth seminar in the 2014 rabbit care seminar series – Does my Rabbit Need Braces?

August

Luigi the Lemon was rescued, and his recovery is still ongoing.  Otho, a long-time, long-loved member of the Zooh Corner Sanctuary, left us for the Rainbow Bridge.  Zooh Corner participated in the HRS Day of Action, protesting the sale of rabbit meat at Whole Foods.

September

Zooh Corner vice president Susan Shum had to say goodbye to Teddy and Quinne.  We hosted our fifth seminar in the 2014 rabbit care seminar series – Common Rabbit Diseases & Illnesses.  Dr. Stephanie Lamb of Exotic Animal Care Center, one of our good friends and volunteers for the rabbit health seminars, moved to Arizona.

October

Walnut and Gable were rescued, and are available for adoption.  Count Chocula and Poppie left for the Rainbow Bridge.

November

We hosted our sixth seminar in the 2014 rabbit care seminar series – Caring for Elderly & Disabled Rabbits.

December

We hosted our annual holiday party and fundraiser, with a Nightmare before Christmas theme!  Unfortunately, Susan lost her beloved Pork Chop.
